Primeiramente, ignorem a capa de romance de banca, por favor (nada contra os romances de banca, mas Burn For Me não tem nada a ver com esse estilo de história). Agora, leve em consideração o fato de que este livro deuso foi escrito por ninguém menos que Ilona Andrews- o casal de escritores autores da queridinha série do gênero urban fantasy Kate Daniels. O que nós temos? Um romance de primeira ordem, com direito a cenas de ação muito bem desenvolvidas, momentos de tensão e um romance cativante.

Não vou entrar em detalhes em relação ao enredo do livro, já que estragaria a graça. Nevada Baylor é a sua típica jovem mulher em um mundo nada típico. Dona de uma pequena (mas competente, muito obrigada) firma de investigações, ela briga desde muito cedo para fazer os negócios da família darem certo e manter todo mundo que ama com um teto sobre a cabeça. Por esses mesmos motivos, é obrigada a aceitar um trabalho perigoso que pode muito bem por sua vida em risco.

O problema é que no mundo de Nevada, o poder é distribuído por Casas tradicionais que possuem habilidades sobrenaturais. E ninguém é mais poderoso e impressionante quanto Mad Rogan, o misterioso, assustador e terrivelmente atraente magnata com quem Nevada é forçada a trabalhar junto para poder resolver sua investigação e voltar em paz para sua vida.

"-Você parece ter a impressão de que eu trabalho para você e que você pode me dar ordens. Deixe-me consertar isso. Eu desliguei o telefone."

Burn For Me não tem erro: cenas de ação que fazem seu coração palpitar? Sim! Um romance adulto e instigante? Sim! Personagens complexos e interessantes? yep. Uma heroína digníssima que faz você torcer o tempo todo a favor? SIM! 

"-E vamos ser honestos, você não foi realmente machucada. Eu mesmo levei você para casa.

-Você me deixou na minha porta. De acordo com a minha mãe, eu parecia quase morta

-Sua mãe está exagerando. Um terço morta no máximo.

Eu olhei para ele. Uau. Apenas Uau."

A escrita de Andrews é muito fluída. Comecei a ler o livro à tarde e de repente eram 3 horas da manhã de segunda-feira e eu tinha zero de arrependimentos. Nevada narra a história em primeira pessoa e possui um humor sarcástico e uma visão madura que é revigorante. O interesse romântico, Mad Rogan (acredite, o nome é proposital), é real; faz besteiras, nos dá vontade de acertá-lo bem forte na cabeça em alguns momentos mas no final tem uma personalidade tão ricamente construída que o leitor quer abri-lo e descobrir todos os seus segredos (que são muitos!).

Agora fica a dúvida: Quando irão trazer essa belezinha para o Brasil?

Não, aqui não é um culto satânico.O nome refere-se aos melhores livros que temos o prazer de encontrar: aqueles que nos fazem sofrer, chorar, gritar de raiva e ficar de ressaca literária.
